Alan B. Havis graduated from the Detroit College of Law in 1984, and has been litigating on behalf of municipalities and corporations ever since. Mr. Havis began his career litigating a wide range of tort matters on behalf of Wayne County Michigan for six years, the last two years defending Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in the capacity of Assistant Airport Counsel.

In 1990, Mr. Havis moved to Washington, D.C. to join the country’s leading aviation defense firm, Katten Muchin Zavis and Dombroff, where he defended litigation ranging from airport premise liability to complex aviation disasters, including the airfield collision between two Northwest Aircraft at Metro Airport on December 3, 1990.

In 1994, The Law Office of Alan B. Havis and its sister company ABH Claims Services, Inc. was launched. ABH Claims Services, Inc., has since gone on to provide a range of services to its clients including the management and handling of all injury claims and litigation involving the general liability and OCIP policies at Detroit Metro Airport and the handling of various claims on behalf of a variety of other airports and airport insurers.
